قال الإمام مالك رحمه الله: "كانت أمي تُعَمِّمني وتقول لي: إذهب إلى ربيعة، فتعلَّم من أدبه قبل علمه"
Imam Mālik, may Allāh bestow His mercy upon him, said: "My mother would dress me and say: 'Go to Rabi'ah and learn from his manners before his knowledge.'"
قال ابن الجوزي رحمه الله: "كان السلف إذا نشأ لأحدهم ولد شغلوه بحفظ القرآن وسماع الحديث؛ فيثبت الإيمان في قلبه"
Hāfidh Ibn al-Jawzi, may Allāh bestow His mercy upon him, said: ”The Salaf, when a child was born to one of them, they would occupy him with memorizing the Qur’ān and listening to hadith, so that faith would become firmly rooted in his heart.”
